10 Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Beat Clutter!
You sure would like to get organized ... tomorrow. Putting things off may feel good now, but you'll be in big trouble one of these tomorrows. Check out these 10 ways to break the habit of procrastinating.
- Break a big project into several smaller tasks. It will be much more manageable that way.
- Set deadlines for yourself.
- Visualize yourself completing the task, step by step.
- Think positive. Ignore those doubts, excuses, and rationalizations that creep into your mind.
- Do the most difficult or most distasteful task first. It's all downhill from there.
- Reward yourself for completing tasks along the way.
- Eliminate distractions. Don't let a messy desk, the Internet, radio, or TV get in the way of the task at hand.
- Take care of yourself. When you don't feel well, whether physically or emotionally, it's harder to get things done. Get enough sleep, eat a healthy diet, and exercise every day.
- Get started now. Just do something, no matter how small. Taking the first step will lead to more.
